What if this would be your last time on this planet?

We live in times of big changes. Nature, people, technology - everything is moving and transforming. This is nothing new and a big shift is building up for quite a while now but these last years seem to have brought even more pace into it. Many people seem to be at a crossroads in their life asking where to go and what to do. Looking for a purpose or a deeper meaning and questioning ourselves and our lifestyle is a big topic right now. Why is it so hard for us to enjoy life and simply do what makes us happy?

The more people are waking up and start to live a conscious life, the more questions they start to have. Amazing and smart people are scrutinizing themselves and their lives and have doubts about their future. Less people accept being in a job that makes them unhappy or living a life according to societies norms. People wake up and see that they are meant to do something different and to enjoy life more. Slowly the idea of a profession being our purpose fades and we move towards finding or creating the purpose inside us. Nevertheless we have to pay the bills and that brings a lot of us in a dilemma. Humans want to explore and discover, deep down we are nomads, tribes people, wanderer and explorer. Our souls want to experience whatever there is to experience and that makes it really hard to find joy in a forty hour work week.

To answer the question asked above, I think most of all we have to unlearn that pleasure and joy is something bad or something that is nothing that happens much in our daily lives. The conditioning through religion and society that has always been there keeps us small and obedient. This lacking mindset goes deep and it might take a while to become free of it. We have to remember that we are creating our reality - we are responsible for ourselves and the way we live. Joy and pleasure are part of our human nature.

Now, as great as it is to start asking questions and noticing that you are uncomfortable with a current situation as exhausting and frustrating it can be. The feeling of being lost and not knowing what to do or how to create a joyful life almost makes us want to go back to being oblivious but as soon as you start to become aware there is no way of 'going back to sleep'. Maybe for a while we have to stay in the discomfort of not knowing and not having a plan but that is just the transition to something much better. Maybe we will come back to this discomfort more than once or twice (or a hundred times) but then so it is in order to gain more awareness. What seems to be a setback is actually shedding these layers of conditioning and getting to the core - to your centre and what better place is there to be than centred within yourself. This is where all your answer are.

In the meanwhile, when standing at an intersection in your life, be patient and focus on the things that feel good. As plain as it sounds but bringing the positive to your awareness will shift your focus and you are less likely to get into a cycle of overthinking that ends in even more frustration and a feeling of being helpless. You are absolutely allowed to be angry, sad or even miserable but you can be conscious of your thoughts about these feelings. Be angry, hate your situation for a while but then accept it and let it go by not fuelling it with negative thoughts or destructive self-talk. Our thoughts are so unbelievably powerful and we have to be aware of them.

Shifting my mindset from 'I don't know what to do or where to go' to 'I am free to start a new chapter in my life' helped me a lot to see the good things in a situation of uncertainty. Become comfortable with not knowing what's ahead of you and find joy in trying new things. Most times we cannot solve anything by just thinking about it, we have to get up and try. Trying out new things and seeing new places will open up new possibilities that might not even have occurred to you. Having a plan can be great but don't be attached to the outcome as it narrows down your options. Walk through life with open eyes, notice the synchronicities and possibilities - we are always guided. Get a bit more comfortable with starting new and letting go of old ways and patterns and you will see what is out there for you. If we can trust a hundred percent we don't need a plan, we would be completely flowing without resistance. What makes us tremble and fall are our doubts and worries. By that we stop our own flow, we start to worry more and eventually we end up in a situation that feels terribly overwhelming.

Ask yourself this one question: How would you live this life if it would be your last one or your only one? If you think that we only live one life, isn't it absolutely absurd to do anything else than simply enjoying it and doing the things we love?! If you believe in reincarnation ask yourself the same question and consider the karma factor in. How will your next life look like if you keep forcing yourself to do the things you don't want to do? What will your lesson be then? Why not learning it in this life? We are here to enjoy life - that is our purpose. By doing more things that bring us joy we automatically find our way. We eventually find a job that we like and places to live that we love.

It is not easy to face what seems to be a reset or chaos or a new beginning but going through these changes help us to become aware of what we do and don't want in our lives. If you find yourself in this kind of situation right now be patient with yourself, accept that some phases seem to be a standstill or a bit messy. Everything just gets realigned again. Do what makes you feel good and don't force yourself into something that doesn't resonate only because society or a false believe is telling you that it should be like this or that. Of course life is not always fun and play - it can be hard and exhausting but in the end it is up to us what we make out of a challenging situations and if we are willing to take the next step up towards something great.

To sum it up, be patient with yourself and trust in the divine timing as things that are right for you will unfold inevitably. Be comfortable with uncertainty as this is where infinite possibilities lie. Dare to move out of your comfort zone and explore what brings you joy - this is where you find your talents and outer purpose. Don't be afraid of what seems to be a setback as it is just you peeling layers of what doesn't serve you anymore in order to rediscover your centre - this is where your inner purpose and all your answer are. Just look within.
